All of creation is constantly saying that God is passionately loving. Just think about all the little details of an atom or the far off universes that we will never travel. Or the deepest oceans that we cannot all see face to face. God's love is so passionate that He went (and continues to go) beyond what we can understand to give and express His love.

Like with parents and kids; most children will never know everything that their parents did for them to show them love and provide for their needs. God is perfect in His lavishing love. He will also go beyond the needed and into the expressive to show and give love.

Christ on the Cross is an amazing picture of this. Christ did not deserve death at all! He could have been killed via "humane" lethal injection and it still would have been infinitely more than He ever deserved. But God always goes above and beyond to display His love. So humiliation, extreme suffering, and brutal death were the vehicles for His substitution on our behalf. Far more than what was needed to redeem us. This is the love of our God: extreme, over the top, and far more than we could ever imagine. 1 John 3:1
